Somehow I missed the memo about how life would be in constant forward motion once we moved into our new house.
(Never envisioned I’d be talking me “we” or “our” either, but alas, here we are!)
Yes, moving in on my birthday may not have been the best of ways to spend celebrating another trip around the sun. No, I didn’t quite imagine we would throw a housewarming/birthday party the second day we were in the house either, but ultimately, who am I kidding? I wouldn’t change any of it all for anything!
We can hardly keep up with each other, life is constant and there is always something. We weren’t in our house and reclined on the couch for five minutes before the task changed from “unpack this box!” to “plan this wedding!” Our wedding. Who knew!?
Once you’re in a new place, there’s lots to do, but once you set a wedding date, and it’s t-minus 154 days from now, there’s lots to do. Again, I wouldn’t change any of it, it’s been a lot of fun. We have even been busy attending a wedding of friend’s one weekend, and one, requiring a road trip, of cousin’s the next. See what I mean, it’s constant! Shop off this registry, build this registry, decide on “the dress,” there’s lots to do! Oh, and where are we going for the rehearsal dinner?
Luckily, I can report that a lot of that has been decided and rings have been purchased! Yes, my dress is lovely, no I didn’t want to go and try any on, but thankfully, Kate dragged me and yanked that Band-Aid off and I walked out of the store after trying 5 (or was it 7?!) on and finding the one on the first try-on day! Fate stepped in and it’s a good thing we went that weekend, instead of the next as planned, because everything happens for a reason. No, I don’t want anyone (else) to see my dress before I’m aisle-bound!
We have revisited the space, met the DJ, chatted with the photographer (no profile shots!), had a sit down with our “officiant” and have decided on many desserts. These are very exciting times and there is no place we would rather be besides in constant motion. Period.
Well… Life is good and it is hard to complain.
We are certainly in agreement that we are on a mission. Last weekend’s mission was to get the (again, oversized) windows covered. This involved measuring, buying curtain rods and then the curtains. Panel set after panel set somehow we got all of the “shared space” presentable. Our bedroom window coverings are still the old wooden shutter, but after a special order and free delivery after having bought the store out, we have everything we need to start hanging the new curtains. And rods. Eventually.
Meanwhile, the kitchen, dining room, living room and The Divine Miss M’s room are show-off-able here for your viewing pleasure.
